How Much do Braces or Invisalign Cost?
The cost of treatment varies with the complexity of the case and the time necessary for completion. If you have orthodontic coverage as part of your dental insurance package, you may be eligible for a reduced fee and/or insurance reimbursement. We also offer convenient payment options. We will provide you with a full breakdown of fees at your consultation appointment.
With Which Insurance Companies do you Participate?
Currently, we are participating providers of Aetna, Delta Dental, Cigna, Guardian, United Concordia, DHA/Assurant, Careington, and Empire.
Will Orthodontic Treatment Hurt?
Placement of braces or Invisalign attachments does not hurt. However, when teeth are actively moving after an adjustment, they can be sore for a few days. A softer diet and over-the-counter pain medication may be helpful.
How Long Does Treatment Take with Braces or Invisalign?
The length of time in treatment varies with the complexity of the case. Once a diagnosis and treatment plan is established, a more accurate prediction of treatment time can be determined.
Am I a Candidate for Invisalign?
Invisalign can correct most malocclusions as well as being more esthetic than traditional braces, so many adults favor this option. We also treat teens with Invisalign, as part of the Invisalign Teen program. At your consultation appointment, we can determine if Invisalign is a good option for your case.
Do I Need Invisalign Attachments on my Teeth?
Efficient and effective Invisalign treatment requires that attachments be placed on the teeth. Attachments are made of a tooth-colored bonding material. The trays need a “handle” in order to push the teeth in certain directions.
What Foods should be Avoided with Braces or Invisalign?
With braces or Invisalign, we encourage you to avoid foods that can harm the enamel. These include sweet or acidic drinks, foods high in sugar, and hard foods that can break off braces or attachments. We will provide you with full list of foods to avoid during treatment.
How Often are Appointments?
We usually like to see our patients every 4-6 weeks, so that the progress of treatment can be accurately monitored. With Invisalign, we often extend the appointment intervals to 8-10 weeks. We try to accommodate your busy schedule.
Do I have to Take my Child out of School for Appointments?
We usually schedule routine adjustment appointments after school. However, there are some visits that require more time and are scheduled earlier in the day. We try and work around lunchtime and non-academic classes for these longer visits.
